Collection of Personal Information

In order to operate the INSTADEBIT service and to reduce the risk of fraud, you must provide your name, address, phone number, date of birth, the last 4 digits of your Social Insurance Number, e-mail address and, on occasion, your driver's license information. In order to make payments through INSTADEBIT, you must provide your payment information details.

Information Collected from Third Parties

In order to protect all our customers against potential fraud, we verify with third parties the information you provide. In the course of such verification, we receive personally identifiable information about you from such services. In particular, we receive information from sources that provide information surrounding identity verification, credit activity, fraudulent activity. We also verify with sources who specialize in identifying suspicious activity and illicit behavior.

In addition, we may receive information about you from a credit bureau, to the extent permitted by law. INSTADEBIT, at its sole discretion, also reserves the right periodically to retrieve and review a business and / or consumer credit report for any account, and reserves the right to close an account based on information obtained during this credit review process.

Web Site Traffic Information

As is true of most web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data.

We may combine this automatically collected log information with other information we collect about you. We do this to improve site functionality and for site analytics.

Site Login and Transaction Activity

We retain transaction and login information for each of your transactions through INSTADEBIT. This information is necessary to protect you from fraud, settle transaction disputes or errors and to provide our customers with access to reports that list all of their transactions. In addition we also track and log the IP address and geographical location, ISP provider and routing information associated with each login and transaction in order to verify the source of the request to ensure that it matches your physical location. This information may be shared with merchants, third parties and law enforcement authorities in the event of any suspected abuse of the system and/or suspected illegal activities.

You agree that INSTADEBIT may block access to any computer located outside Canada. INSTADEBIT uses sophisticated geo location tracking systems to identify the IP address, Internet service provider, and routing information for all transactions coming to our system. You agree that INSTADEBIT may block service to any computer that cannot be geographically located due to proxy servers, public proxies, anonymizers or any other connection that does not enable INSTADEBIT to geographically locate the originating computer in the case of fraudulent or other illegal activity, INSTADEBIT will inform law enforcement authorities and share information that is requested by such authorities to assist in their investigations.

Tracking Technologies

We Instadebit International Solutions Ltd. and our partners use technologies such as cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users' movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level.

We do not share your Social Insurance Number, date of birth, driver's license, or payment option information with our merchants unless we are compelled to do so by legal action relating to fraud or other illegal activity alleged against the customer.

INSTADEBIT will not share any of your personally identifiable information with third parties except in the limited circumstances described in this Privacy Policy, or with your express permission. These third parties are limited by law or by contract from using the information for secondary purposes beyond the purposes for which the information is shared. These companies are authorized to use your personally identifiable information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

  1. We share information with companies that help us process the transactions you request and protect our customers' transactions from fraud, such as sharing your identity details payment information details with services that screens for identity inconsistencies, suspicious transaction patterns and account fraud.
  2. If you debit money from your bank account to pay a merchant and the transaction is later returned by your bank due to insufficient funds, INSTADEBIT may report that to negative databases and credit/debit bureaus as required by our contractual obligations associated with our anti-fraud uses of those services. We may also share information with processing companies including collection agencies in order to collect on insufficiently funded transactions.
  3. We disclose information that we in good faith believe is appropriate to cooperate in investigations of fraud or other illegal activity, or to conduct investigations of violations of our User Agreement.
  4. In certain situations, Instadebit International Solutions Ltd. may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We disclose information in response to a subpoena, warrant, court order, levy, attachment, order of a court-appointed receiver or other comparable legal process, including subpoenas from private parties in a civil action.
  5. We disclose information to your agent or legal representative (such as the holder of a power of attorney that you grant, or a guardian appointed for you).
  6. As with any other business, it is possible that INSTADEBIT in the future could merge with or be acquired by another company. If such an acquisition occurs, the successor company would have access to the information maintained by INSTADEBIT, including customer account information, but would continue to be bound by this Privacy Policy unless and until it is amended as described in this policy. Users will have the opportunity to unsubscribe to any marketing related messages received. If you no longer wish to receive these emails, you may opt out of them by canceling your account.

How We Store Collected Information

Information Security

INSTADEBIT is committed to handling your customer information with high standards of information security. Your identification and bank account information are stored on computers that are not connected to the Internet. We restrict access to your personally identifiable information to employees who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you and have signed our Code of Conduct and have been trained in information security and privacy policies. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your non-public personal information. We test our security systems regularly and also contract with outside companies to audit our security systems and processes.

When you enter sensitive information (such as bank account number) on our input forms, we encrypt the transmission of that information using secure socket layer (SSL) technology.

The laws on holding personal data in Canada may be less stringent than the laws of your country but INSTADEBIT will hold and transmit your personal information in a safe, confidential and secure environment. We may retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Updating and Deleting Your Information

Upon request Instadebit International Solutions Ltd. will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. You can review the personal information you provided us and make changes by updating or deleting some information, or to the settings for your INSTADEBIT account, at any time by logging in to your account on the INSTADEBIT Web site and changing your preferences of your account. In order to protect you we restrict the alteration of some information, which can only be changed by calling the INSTADEBIT customer service department. If you close your INSTADEBIT account, we will mark your account in our database as "Closed," but will keep your account information in our database or you may reach us at the contact information available below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. We will retain and use your information as necessary in order to deter fraud, by ensuring that persons who try to commit fraud will not be able to avoid detection simply by closing their account and opening a new account, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements.
